The Fort Worth Stockyards are mostly known as a picturesque tourist destination. The historic registered Horse and Mule Barns (built around 1910), which once served purely agricultural and industrial uses, are now being re-envisioned as a thriving mixed-use catalyst for the overall Stockyards redevelopment. This session will review how historical preservation and adaptive reuse can create unique placemaking opportunities.
