Description
This session will discuss the new Menil Drawing Institute. Designed by Los Angeles-based Johnston Marklee, it is the first freestanding work of architecture built exclusively for the exhibition, conservation, and study of modern and contemporary drawings. The project includes a new energy-efficient central plant, or Energy House, serving multiple museum buildings, new infrastructure, and a new park. The work proceeds from a 2009 master plan by David Chipperfield and opens up the campus to further future development.

*Course marked "SD" may qualify for Sustainable Design for the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners.
